Experiencing an Online Post-it Board: Padlet

Updated: Jan 13, 2023

Hi, my lovely readers!

I hope you are all doing well. Today as usual I am going to introduce my new project, Padlet, and of course my experiences with it. In our Educational Technologies course, we had to do a KWL (what we know/want to know, and what we learned) chart of a topic of our choice that the teacher gave us. We worked collaboratively in Padlet with my classmates Ebru Efe, Hudaye Duranoglu, and Nazar Gokalp.

How was our project process?

At the very beginning, we used our Microsoft accounts and opened a Padlet wall where we all wrote our own knowledge and research. As we choose to search for the coronavirus pandemic, we wrote separately our background knowledge and the things that we wanted to know and learned. We supported our research with videos and photos. It was so enjoyable and educational for us and for our future students as well.

How did using Padlet as a tool enable us to share our project details?

For me, the most significant thing in Padlet was its simple usage that didn’t force us. Each and every user can easily work with their classmates for the same goal. There were numerous contents that you can use to make your Padlet well-looked such as adding gifs, videos from YouTube, and photographs as well.

How did this project help students gain the abilities they need for the twenty-first century?

As we have learned before 4Cs (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication). have a great impact on the 21st Learning Skills. So, in Padlet the virtual whiteboard enhanced our educational performance by encouraging creativity and collaborative learning.
